Nice Product

Glad to have purchased this item to store my photos and documents.
I can now easily access my photos and document offsite with ease.

Private Cloud Come True

Ok, it seems a little odd, but I love this thing. I used to use a WD My Cloud, for ease of access (seamless backup of pictures on wife's phone was great), but when they had a major OS update and "obsoleted" my model, I decided to look for a more robust replacement.
The Synology is definitely what I wanted. Capacity is whatever drive size you buy and install. Photo backup from mobile devices works from anywhere, as does the video streaming. Security settings are more flexible/granular. Access for file storage can be via app or hitting it as a network share.
Most cloud storage is just someone else's hard drive; this is mine.

Am I the 1st to receive ds224+?

Am I the first to receive this since it is just launched? I am wow by this DS224+!!! I bought this NAS to replace my old Drobo 5N since Drobo went out of business and there's no longer support for it. Had I known how much faster and more versatile this NAS is over the Drobo I would have replaced my Drobo a long time ago. Like the Drobo this NAS allows you to mix different models of drives and have dual disk redundancy with their SHR2 disk format option.
