Kodak will showcase its latest innovations in document imaging technology at the 2010 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference & Exhibition at the MMR Information Systems Booth #5539 in Atlanta.
Kodak's document scanners
and Software will be demonstrated with MMR's web-based SaaS solution for Personal Health Records (PHR), MMRPro Software. By enabling easy scanning and access to paper-based PHR records within a secure digital setting, the solution provides healthcare professionals and patients with the confidence that they can manage and share their medical records in a protected environment.
At Booth #5539, attendees will also have the opportunity to 'capture' a moment with Kodak and MMR, and have their photo taken with Apollo 11 Astronaut, Buzz Aldrin. When processed, the photo will depict Buzz Aldrin and individual photo-takers as standing on the surface of the moon, in the original 'Sea of Tranquility.'
Kodak's broad portfolio of document imaging capabilities integrates with many web-based applications, and provides users with the simplicity, standardization and scalability needed to accurately and efficiently digitize paper-based information. At HIMSS, Kodak's document imaging technology paired with the MMRPro solution will demonstrate how users can have ease of use and direct connectivity to a secure electronic medical records platform.
'Kodak commits to working with channel partners to provide intelligent, innovative capture platform solutions in the healthcare space,' said Brian Bagan, Director, Business Development, United States and Canada, Document Imaging, Kodak's Business Solutions and Services Group.
'Document imaging represents a critical first step in addressing patient needs for retrieving their electronic medical records. The MMRPro solution, incorporated with KODAK Scanners, KODAK Capture Pro Software, and KODAK Service and Support, represents a strategic solution for the healthcare industry. Physicians and patients alike can have greater peace of mind as they manage confidential information on a daily basis.'
Kodak's scanners work effectively with the MMRPro Solution, to help doctors and patients find real, efficient solutions for capturing and managing critical healthcare records. This can be especially helpful for smaller-based practices, which make up a large majority of the healthcare system. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' 2010-11 Career Guide to Industries, offices of physicians, dentists, and other health practitioners, make up 76 percent of all healthcare establishments.
KODAK Capture Pro Software and Kodak's Smart Touch Feature, featured in KODAK Scanners, work seamlessly with the MMRPro solution to help streamline data from multiple providers, and make information more manageable for the average user. In the MMRPro Solution, patients can quickly and easily upload and information in real time, with view-only access, from any Internet connection.
In addition, customizable features from the MMR portfolio of products allow doctors and staff permission-based access to patient records, helping ensure patient privacy through controlled access to the most personal information. The MMRPro system also allows updating of patient files via fax, email or telephone. Through this ease of use and connectivity to accurate information, physicians can better manage their practices and provide better patient care. Patients can also benefit from the knowledge that they can take charge of their own healthcare.
Several KODAK Scanners will be on display at the MMR booth at HIMSS. KODAK Scan Station 520EX and the KODAK i1320 Scanner will be demonstrated with MMRPro Software. The KODAK SCANMATE i1120 scanner, a personal, compact desktop scanner, will be present, which utilizes Kodak's Smart Touch Technology Feature, and provides direct integration into applications like MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT Server, email, and other destinations. In addition, the KODAK i4600 Scanner will be present at the MMR booth, a new member to Kodak's family of low volume production scanners. The i4600 offers production level entry qualities within a compact, ergonomic design. A part of the KODAK i4000 Series Scanners, they are the smallest scanners in class to offer a c-shape transport with additional straight-through paper path. Kodak will also be demonstrating its just-announced version of KODAK Capture Pro Software, v2.5 at the booth. Capture Pro Software, v2.5 offers new capabilities, increased speed and enhanced accuracy, building upon automated features originally included in v2.0, announced last year.
The annual HIMSS Conference, one of the largest health IT expos, with more than 25,00 expected attendees will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, March 1-4, 2010. Attendees largely include CIOs/Senior IT Executives, Clinical and Management Engineers, Consultants, and other healthcare and government-related professionals.
