Synology® Inc. today announced that Vic Hsu, Vice President of the System and Enterprise Group, will extend his responsibilities to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Hsu succeeds James Chen, who will be leading Synology's China subsidiary as a response to Mainland China's growing IT demands.
"Hsu has an eye for spotting technology trends and opportunities," said Philip Wong, Synology's Founder and Chairman. "We're very happy to welcome him as the new CEO, and look forward to seeing Synology grow as a company under his leadership."
Prior to taking on the System and Enterprise Group, Hsu served as the Managing Director for Synology GmbH, which has further strengthened its brand recognition in Germany and Europe. Hsu will contribute his expertise in the field to steer Synology in a new direction.
Vic Hsu expressed that he was "thrilled and honored to take on the new role," and promised to "deliver diverse product lines this year to better serve Synology's business users." With a strong background in software engineering, Hsu was one of the masterminds behind the award-winning DiskStation Manager (DSM) during his 11 years serving at Synology.
