D-Link Announces iPad and Android Tablet App for home security
Tuesday, 22 November 2011 00:58

D-Link has just announced the launch of iPad and Android tablet apps for remote viewing networking cameras.
The new mydlink+ apps, which are available on the Apple App Store and the Android Marketplace, enable consumers to remotely monitor up to four network cameras around their home or small office from anywhere at any time.
The mydlink+ app allows users to access multiple live video steams with their mydlink-enabled network cameras. Unlike many USB-connected webcams on the market, mydlink-enabled cameras feature built-in CPUs and web servers for high-quality live streaming video sent directly to the network without a PC.
“Our new tablet apps join D-Link's suite of monitoring tools to help consumers and small business owners manage their remote surveillance needs on-the-go," says Daniel Kelley, associate vice president marketing, D-Link.
“It's now easier than ever to see and hear what's going on at home or at the office without being tied to a computer. All you need is a mydlink-enabled camera and an iPad or Android tablet to monitor everything that's important to you. The tablet app was a natural addition to our popular iPhone and Android phone app allowing access whenever or wherever you choose.”
Home Security Video Cameras
Home security is increasingly an issue for many households, but thanks to a reduction in costs and better technology, it is now fairly easy to set up a home security system with your very own built-in CCTV system.
D-Link is just one of a number of companies that create and build video cameras that are designed for quick and easy installation, with management via an easy to use e Web-based interface. Most also have the option of direct recording to disk or network storage appliance for a totally hands-off operation. The cameras themselves can be set up to operate according to a pre-set schedule or automatically when motion is detected.
