|Nuance and Vesta form mobile payment alliance|

Speech, imaging and keypad solutions provider Nuance Communications and Oregon-based Vesta Corporation, an electronic payment solutions provider for wireless operators, have announced a partnership to deliver mobile payment solutions.
Under the partnership, the companies will integrate Nuance's Mobile Care application with Vesta's Mobile Payment Platform, to deliver a comprehensive payment service to mobile operators worldwide. The companies said the partnership will expand the capabilities of Nuance' application by enabling mobile subscribers to make payments and handle other payment-related functions directly through their handsets.
Other functions of the combined offering include bill presentment and account balance, balance alerts, bill payment, prepaid top-up, payment history and general account inquiries. Vesta's detection and risk management capabilities will also benefit mobile operators with full payment fraud indemnity.
Bob Wise, general manager and senior vice president of Nuance Mobile Care, said: "Our partnership with Vesta supports our strategic direction toward expanding our Mobile Care offerings and our focus on providing innovative, secure self-service solutions to enterprises and mobile operators worldwide."
In September, Nuance announced it will open an Open Voice Services European Center of Excellence to focus on its Voicemail-to-Text, Voice Control, Voice Search, Mobile Messaging, and voice services for the Connected Car to meet the needs of global mobile operators.
