Kodak, one of the world's foremost imaging innovators, reiterated it's commitment to the ME region and its business partners with the visit of senior world wide and regional management to Dubai.
In a media briefing on Wednesday 9th Dec., Kodak's World Wide General Manager for Sales and Vice President, Gustavo Oviedo accompanied with John O'Grady, MD for EAMER and Vice President and Philip Cullimore, Director Sales & VP for EAMER shared Kodak's strategic plans for the ME region and the growth strategy for Kodak to increase its market share in both the consumer and commercial segments it caters to.
"It is important to reinforce our commitment to our partners and show how Kodak plans to support and grow their business profitably in the coming years. We are here to share our strategic vision and thank our partners for their continued support that has lead to our success in this promising region", said Mr. Gustavo Oviedo. "Despite the current difficult times, we have managed to hold our market share in both new digital consumer products and core growth businesses. At Kodak we believe that if we offer quality and value, and adopt sensible yet innovative strategies that suit the markets we operate in, then we can and will be successful", he added.
"Similar to other organizations, 2009 has been a challenging year for Kodak too but with the outlook looking positive, we strongly feel that we have the right products in both consumer imaging and commercial printing segments to capitalize on the opportunities ahead. Middle East has fared better than other regions, which gives us more confidence and hope for a faster recovery," added Mr. John O'Grady.
The company also revealed their 2010 business strategy would focus on expanding their market share with the introduction of a new technically advanced portfolio of consumer and commercial products that are ground breaking and innovative. "Consumers have always trusted Kodak in capturing, protecting and sharing their precious memories and we have successfully managed to offer the simplest solution to do just that for over a century. The new digital Kodak follows the same principles and our current and upcoming digital products will continue to make image taking and sharing to the next level for today's generation of digital consumers", said Mr. Philip Cullimore.
The company sees the Middle East and Africa as key regions for its future growth plans, and intends to remain focused on providing solutions to the exclusive requirements of this region. "We recognize the importance of the emerging markets of the Middle East and Africa, and we are fully committed to supporting our distributors with customized products and solutions that our customers in these areas require." said Mr. Oviedo.
The company's commercial products include award winning commercial printing solutions that offer new revenue opportunities for the printing industry including newspaper printers, commercial printers, packaging and transactional printing services. "We are already tasting success in other regions with our pre-press and commercial printers as they offer versatility and innovative profitable solutions." Said Mr. Gustavo Oviedo. The consumer digital product range which started with Kodak EasyShare digital cameras has expanded in just a few years to include market leading digital picture frames. The latest introduction is the Kodak digital pocket video cameras like Kodak Zi6, Zx1 and the Zi8 which is already receiving rave reviews as the best in the segment.
Kodak is hosting a major event for its key Channel Partners in the region from 8th to 10th December 2009 in Dubai.
